About Preschool Rock Paper Scissors™
PRPS™ is a program comprised of an emerging group of educators passionately committed to providing a positive, encouraging and rewarding environment where children age 3 to 5 can express themselves creatively. Through age appropriate craft projects, art instruction and open exploration of arts and crafts materials, PRPS™ effectively gives preschool age children a head start in preparing for kindergarten. PRPS™ licensed educators are passionate about sharing their love of arts and crafts and work toward creating a memorable learning experience for children who attend their classes.
Our Mission
The Preschool Rock Paper Scissors™ mission is to bring preschool age children together for a fun and educational experience while familiarizing them with different arts and crafts mediums and providing an opportunity to grow through social interaction with their peers. Emphasis is placesd on the creative process, not the final product. Pride in accomplishment is what is strive for.
About the Creator

The
Preschool Rock Paper Scissors™ program was created by a parent just like you -- a mom who saw the need to socialize her daughter with other children in a setting that promotes self expression and a sense of accomplishment. Shannon McMath, creator of the
PRPS™ program, recognizes the benefit that arts and crafts at the preschool level has on development of fine motor skills, language, social skills and self esteem.
Through McMath's education in art and design as well as her experience as the Crafts writer for PreschoolRock.com, she has developed an arts and crafts curriculum geared toward the creative and social growth of preschool age children. By sharing her love of crafts with her daughter and others, she has learned what works and what doesn't. Wanting to give other parents the opportunity to watch their child grow through arts and crafts, in 2007 Preschool Rock Paper Scissors™ was born.
Knowing that communities all over the country are in need of children's programs promoting the arts, McMath devised a system to license parents to become Preschool Rock Paper Scissors™ educators. Without previous teaching experience, licensed PRPS™ educators can use the materials created by McMath to contribute to the education and social skill development of preschool age children in their area through arts and crafts.
Preschool Rock, Paper, Scissors™ was created as an addition to the PreschoolRock.com network, the first and largest network on the Internet dedicated to parents and teachers of preschoolers. Founded by Stacey Lloyd in 2006, PreschoolRock.com quickly grew to over thirty websites, including twelve local websites nationwide. PreschoolRock.com provides parents and teachers of preschoolers crafts, activities, games, projects, parenting and nutrition information and much more. The mission of PreschoolRock.com is to help parents turn otherwise mundane moments into quality time with their children.
