Questions About Becoming a Licensed PRPS™ Educator?

Do you have questions about the Preschool Rock Paper Scissors™ licensing? Please skim the list below prior to contacting us. Your question may have already been answered.

Do I need any teaching experience to be a licensed PRPS™ educator?
No, you just need a passion for contributing to the development of preschool age children and a desire to help parents continue that development at home.

Will I be an employee of PRPS™?
No, all licensed PRPS™ educators are independent contractors, which means you get to set your own class schedule, be your own boss, and charge your own tuition fees.

How much money do I need to invest to become a licensed PRPS™ educator?
Unlike Kindermusik®, Jazzercise® and many other similar licensing programs, PRPS™ requires minimal investment. The initial license fee is $199, and $99 each year thereafter. Additional costs may include yearly liability insurance premium, craft kits, basic craft tools & supplies, telephone with voice mail or answering machine, computer, facility rental and promotional costs. Read more about the investment needed to be a licensed educator.

How much can I earn as a PRPS™ educator?
Your income potential solely depends on you. You can teach as few or as many classes as you'd like. Here's an example: If you teach five classes a week (one hour each day) and charge $80 per child, you can make about $3000 a month assuming ten children register. Alternatively, you can teach one class a week (one hour, one day a week) and charge $80, you can make about $600 a month assuming ten children register. As you can see, even if you choose to teach only one class per week, you can still make a nice income for yourself.

Are PRPS™ educators limited to a specific territory?
No! You are welcome to teach anywhere you choose.

Who determines the class size, tuition fees and refund policy for my PRPS™ classes?
Class size, tuition fees and refund policy are determined by the educator; we only provide recommendations. Class size recommendation is a maximum of ten children. We recommend a tuition fee between $60 and $100 per class. A refund policy that allows for full refunds up to at least one week prior to the first class date is recommended.

Why do you charge a fee to become a licensed PRPS™ educator?
The licensing fee includes valuable materials required for teaching the specially designed classes. In addition, we provide ongoing services and support, which are also included in the licensing fee. Finally, you need to be licensed to use our trademarks, logos, marketing materials, web site and any other representations of PRPS™.

Why do I need the business guide and training manual to teach PRPS™?
Without the training manual, you will not know how to properly teach the PRPS™ classes, nor will you be permitted to. The PRPS™ business guide provides everything you need to know to run a successful business teaching PRPS™ classes.

What is involved in becoming a licensed PRPS™ educator?
To become a licensed PRPS™ educator, you simply need to apply and pay the licensing fee. Upon payment, all the materials will be shipped to you. It is your responsibility and contractual obligation to read and follow the PRPS™ Training Manual as designed.

Who handles registration, payment and refunds for the PRPS™ classes?
Registration, payment and refunds are handled by the educator.

How soon after becoming licensed can I teach a class?
Once you receive your licensing materials and have read through them thoroughly, you can begin teaching your first class. There is no wait time or limiting requirements. You are your own boss.

Do I have to live in the U.S. to be able to teach PRPS™ classes?
No! You can live and teach anywhere in the world! There are no limits.

Can I teach PRPS™ classes in preschools and daycares?
Yes! You can teach classes for businesses or the public.
